UFC on Versus II Preview
By BEAST – Rob Kimmons vs Steve Steinbeiss
Rob Kimmons (22-5) is predominantly a wrestler who looks to get the submission, and considering 12 of 14 of his submission victories were via choke, it wouldn’t be ludacris to think he might catch Steve Steinbeiss in a gulletine in the clinch; especially when you take into consideration Steve’s tendacy to leave it out there when he shoots. When two wrestlers get in there clinching, usually someone’s head winds up getting grabbed, and someone winds up tapping.
In Steve Steinbeiss WEC debut he lost via split decision to Carmelo Marrero, then the UFC picked him up. In his UFC debut he lost to Ryan Jensen via, you guessed it, gulletine choke in the first. Coming off of two straight losses fighting for Zuffa, and having an overall record of 4-3, I think Steve Steinbeiss will be more than desperate for the win; fearing potientially getting cut. However that same motivation that drives some fighters to victory, could cause Steinbeiss to be over agressive and get caught by the veteran submission artist in Rob Kimmons. Steve Steinbeiss gets cut if he loses. Read the rest of this entry »
