(PRWEB) July 24, 2006 — The Legends of Fighting Championships event kicks of at 6PM co-featuring a LFC title bout matching Chris Price vs Troy King and a LFC Superfight matchup between Josh Souder and Craig Majcer. The event is supported by seven undercard bouts.
Davion Peterson, living in Indianapolis and fighting out of the Modern Gladiator’s Gym was a three time all Big Ten wrestler while at Purdue. Since turning pro in MMA he has notched first round victories in several promotions including Integrated Fighting Classic, Hook and Shoot and USMMA events.
Detroit based Eddie Sanchez, fighting out of the Gomez Academy, has received boxing training at the legendary Kronk boxing gym to complement his wrestling and martial arts background. Sanchez launched his pro MMA career after winning a Michigan AAU freestyle wresting championship. His MMA opponents have included former UFC champions and he brings first and second round pro wins from the King of the Cage and Tournament Fighting Championships events.
Peterson has kept his NCAA skills sharp by working on the coaching staff of the University of Indianapolis wrestling team. Peterson, while glad to be fighting for a title is not overly impressed. It’s all just part of his plan. ”Total Domination is the perfect name for this event because it’s also my game plan,” Peterson said. ”If I win the title and a boxing contract that’s just one more arena to dominate on my way to the UFC. The good thing will be exposing boxing fans to the conditioning, training and professionalism that MMA athletes bring to a match. And when it comes time to knock on the UFC’s door I’ll be bringing those new boxing fans with me, which might make the UFC open that door a little quicker.”
Tickets are $20 for ga, reserved are $25-$50, $100 on the cage. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the 8 Second Saloon ticket office.
