Fighting Hurts - Episode 3: Ian Freeman meets the contestants
Ten contestants remain in Fighting Hurts, a new TV show that throws novice fighters into the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Having previously endured a rigorous selection process, materclasses with MMA fighters and workouts from fitness experts, the contestants will next have overcome an intense military style boot-camp in his attempt to become the 2008 Fighting Hurts Champion and win a one-year professional contract with Cage Rage.
The contestants are starting to find their powers of endurance severely tested after three continuous weeks of training in MMA. As injuries start to take their toll, Anton Schutte is forced to withdraw due to a foot problem, in episode three viewers will see firsthand if who has what it takes to become the 2008 Fighting Hurts Champion.
In episode three the remaining nine contestants visited the Fighting Hurts boot-camp where they were subjected to training regimes usually reserved for paratroopers and astronauts. And two-time Cage Rage Champion Ian Freeman will also br providing some expert tuition.
At the end of day one, just when the contestants thought the torment was over, they learnt that they’ll have to first face two-time Cage Rage Champion Ian Freeman. Despite outwrestling all the contestants, Ian is suitably impressed with the progress made by all contestants, with Craig Lawrence and Chris Harman singled out for praise.
Another contestant will be eliminated on Wednesday 15th October at 10pm, leaving just eight contestants being still in with a shot of winning a one-year contract with Cage Rage.
The third episode of Fighting Hurts aired on Nuts TV (on Freeview Channel 42 and Sky Channel 196) on Wednesday 15th October at 10pm, with the forth episode to be shown on Wednesday 22nd at the same time. Be sure to tune in to see who has what it takes to survive in the world of MMA.
