UFC Veteran Drew Fickett Headlines Rage in the Cage 111

Desert Diamond Casino is hosting yet another exciting night of Rage in the Cage action, complete with take-downs, submissions, and tap outs. On Saturday, June 7, 2008, RITC 111 is returning to the Diamond Center, featuring UFC veteran, Drew Fickett, and a Middleweight Championship bout between Eddie Arizmendi and Luke Hodges. Get tickets early at any Ticketmaster location, by calling 520-321-1000, contacting the Desert Diamond Casino Box Office, or visiting desertdiamondcasino.com. Tickets are on sale now and range from $25 to $100 in advance. Doors open at 7:00 PM with the first bout starting at approximately 8:00 PM.

He returns. Drew Fickett (33-5), a seven-time UFC veteran, is making his way back to his hometown of Tucson, Arizona, after an absence of almost eight years. Tucson’s lost is Fickett’s gain; while away, he dominated the UFC ranks, earning wins over Florian, Koscheck, Hallman, Dewees, Pellegrino, and Neer. As the current EliteXC/Strikeforce number one welterweight contender, Fickett may appear to be the clear favorite on June 7th. But Jeff Horlacher (11-11), his chosen opponent, is not out yet. This former RITC Middleweight Champion and former Toughman Champion is determined to have the last word.

The co-main event of the evening pits Eddie Arizmendi (6-3) against Luke Hodges (6-1) for the RITC Middleweight Championship belt. Hodges, the current titleholder, is also making his debut at the Diamond Center. He’ll have to fight against Arizmendi and the crowd, as local fighter, Arizmendi, returns on the heels of his 23 second, round one win over Ari Hooper on April 26th.

Other fighters include: Neal Abrams (4-3), Nic Stone (4-1), Travous Degrout (4-1), Jacob McClintock (3-0), Daniel Hinsen (1-5), Austin “The Punisher” Pascucci (7-8), Ari Hooper (2-3), Alan Roberts (0-1), Ben Bowlen, Mike Zanski (2-0), Orion Cowell (0-1), Steve Maultsby (3-1), Roman Salazar (2-0), Joshua Ramos, Philip Aguilar (3-1), Aaron Wilson, Giovani Cherico, John Long (1-0), Kaywan Sepassi (1-1), Sean Downey, Justin Cuevas, Shane Badia, and Morgan Holland.

Treena Parvello, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, commented, “We’re starting the summer off right with Rage in the Cage at the Diamond Center on June 7th. We have local favorites, a UFC veteran, and enough excitement to last until the fall!”
