WCF and WBCN partner to support Toys For Tots Nov 14th
Boston, MA, Nov. 4 – World Championship Fighting (WCF) today announced the launch of its “Fight For Children In Need” campaign in association with WBCN, the Rock of Boston, to support Greater Boston’s Toys For Tots program. The Toys For Tots program, an annual toy drive created by the U.S. Marine Corps, has been collecting toys for needy children since 1948.
The toy drive will take place on November 14th at the World Championship Fighting 5 event in Wilmington, MA. The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, non-violent, unwrapped, toys each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the Greater Boston community. New unwrapped toys can be donated on the night of fight in the lobby. Monetary donations will also be accepted in the form of check with checks payable to “Toys For Tots of MA.”
Head promoter Joe Cavallaro said of the drive, “World Championship Fighting is proud to work with WBCN and the U.S. Marine Corps to make this Holiday Season special for children in need. The smiles on the faces of those kids is what it’s all about. We hope to continue this tradition and partner with as many people as possible to help support this great program.” WCF Vice President Sal Carrillo also added, “It’s great to be able to give back to the community in some way and what better way than to brighten the lives of Children. I remember what it was like receiving gifts on Christmas, image how these children will feel. It’s just a great way to help the community and we’re proud to be a part of the Toys For Tots program.”
World Championship Fighting and WBCN, who formed a partnership in May of 2008, continue to build upon their relationship to bring the Boston area a mix of the Ultimate in Mixed Martial Arts Fighting and the best Rock music as well as reach out to the community through programs like Toys For Tots. WBCN, The Rock of Boston, will be airing Public Service Announcements and have the WBCN street team out in force at the World Championship Fighting event on November 14th to help drum up support from WCF fans to contribute to the drive. Come out and support the Toys For Tots drive on November 14th while catching the hottest Mixed Martial Arts action on the East Coast! For more information visit www.WCFighting.com.
