Kim “Sugar Free” Cou­ture Off Strikeforce Card

NEW YORK (April 29, 2009)—Mixed martial arts (MMA) upstart Kim “Sugar Free” Cou­ture (1-1) has withdrawn from the series debut of Strikeforce Challengers, scheduled for Friday, May 15. Couture was slated to face submission expert Miesha Tate (5-1) in a 135-pound fight. Strikeforce is working to replace the fight and finalize the card.

Anderson Silva joins HDNet’s “Inside MMA” this week as a guest panelist

UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva joins HDNet’s “Inside MMA” this week as a guest panelist on the program. In Friday’s episode, Silva and his manager, Ed Soares talk about Silva’s record-setting victory over Thales Leites at last weekend’s UFC 97.

Henderson, Le, “Shogun,” Serra Join Round 5 for Expanded “Series 4″ July Release

Four of the most popular and accomplished champions in mixed martial arts, Dan Henderson, Cung Le, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Matt Serra, have partnered with Round 5, the leading producer of MMA collectibles, to create figurines that will be included in an expanded Series 4, it was announced today by Barron Lau, Round 5 CEO and co-founder and Damon Lau, president and co-founder.
