“The Whitemare” really came to promise in July 2009 when he burst onto the scene by claiming the DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix Title with a series of spectacular KO’s. MMA stalwart, Jason High and the highly respected Japanese fighter, Hayato “Mach” Sakurai were both dispatched in clinical fashion to claim the title and cement his place as one of the most deadliest strikers in MMA.
Zaromskis will be making his Strikefoce debut, he was signed to a multi-fight deal back in October after impressively seizing the Welterweight title at DREAM 12.
As for his opponent, the colourful and outspoken Nick Diaz, this will be his first fight for Strikeforce since June when he defeating tough veteran Scott Smith via submission at Lawler Vs Shields.
Diaz hasn’t lost in over two years, his last defeat coming at the hands of KJ Noons via doctor stoppage due to cuts at EliteXC: Renegade in October of 2007. Diaz has then subsequently returned to win five on the bounce, standouts such as the legendary Frank Shamrock and Scott Smith, the man who recently defeated Middleweight Champ, Cung Le, have all failed to last the distance with Diaz.
Fireworks are to be expected.
