Flynn Started When Someone Said Uncle
Matt Flynn’s metamorphosis from successful real estate developer with a degree in finance to EWFC — Director of Operations and one of the hardest working men in MMA began over breakfast one fateful Sunday morning.
“I’m the youngest of seven kids and my family goes to breakfast together once a month,” Flynn explains. “At one of the breakfasts, my nephew, who I babysat since I was 14, said ‘Uncle Matt, I fought in a cage last night.’ I said ‘you did what?’ ‘I fought in a cage at The Palace!’ This is my nephew. Sylvia plans to KO Polish strongman May 21 in Moosin MMA PPV show
Two-time UFC heavyweight champion Tim “Main-iac” Sylvia feels disrespected regarding his May 21st showdown against the first 5-time World’s Strongest Man, iconic Polish powerhouse Mariusz “Dominator” Pudzianowski, headlining the “Moosin: God of Martial Arts” pay-per-view event, at the DCU Center in Worcester.
Sylvia (25-6-0), a natïve of Eastbrook, Maine, has defeated many of the top MMA heavyweights and super heavyweights – Andrei Arlovski (2) Brandon Vera, Jeff Monson, Wes Sims, Ricco Rodriguez, Mike Whitehead (2), Ben Rothwell and Jason Lambert. Fighters hit the scale for MFC 25
In front of the largest weigh-in crowd in the organization’s history, all the fighters hit the scale on Thursday afternoon in preparation for the Maximum Fighting Championship’s MFC 25: Vindication. Before a huge throng of media and fans, the fighters were on stage inside City Centre Mall in the heart of the downtown Edmonton, Alberta, and all but one of the 18 fighters assembled for the best card in MFC history met their contractual weight target. Right on the money for his middleweight main-event spot was Jesse “JT Money” Taylor who weighed in at 184 1/2 pounds, while his opponent, Brazilian star Thales Leites, hit at 185 1/2 pounds. Arlovski, Silva, Gracie and Randleman Conference Call Highlights
Unbeaten Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sensation Roger Gracie (2-0) submitted all eight of his opponents en route to winning the coveted ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship in 2005. The second degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt’s submission skills have proven their worth in MMA competition as the 6-foot-4 heavyweight has won his two professional fights via submission.
Gracie’s opponent Kevin Randleman (17-14) captured back-to-back NCAA Division I national wrestling titles in 1992 and 1993 while attending Ohio State University. His stellar collegiate career gained him entry into the school’s Hall Of Fame in 2004. The first 5-time World’s Strongest Man, Polish icon Mariusz “Dominator” Pudzianowski, makes his United States debut May 21 against 2-time UFC heavyweight champion Tim “Maine-iac” Sylvia (25-6-0) in the super heavyweight main event, headlining the first major mixed-martial-arts show in Massachusetts history, “God of Martial Arts” pay-per-view event, at the DCU Center in Worcester.
“God of Martial Arts” is being presented by Moosin, the South Korea-based promotional company, which has promoted MMA shows in South Korea and the United States.
